The northern coast of the Como Lake provides best wind conditions for windsurfing. In the morning it blows from North the "Tivano", a gentle thermal wind which is the more suitable for beginners to start training. In the early afternoon the wind change its direction, and it comes from South under the alias "Breva". This is a much stronger thermal wind who gives to the more experienced surfers the opportunity to enjoy every kind of manoeuvre. When the wind blows from North the spot becomes one of the more extreme with quite shaped waves.
Dervio is placed on the eastern coast of the Como Lake, about 30 kilometers far from Lecco, province main town. It can be reached by car taking the SP 72, a panoramic road that cross the urban centers on the eastern side of the lake. Alternatively, you can take the faster road SP 36 from Lecco (exit Dervio).
